Undaunted. Eclectic. Detailfreudig.
German-born, Berit’s 14-year career began in architecture and interior design practices in Germany and New York . In 2006 she followed her heart to Vancouver and has made it home ever since. With a degree in interior architecture (Dipl. Ing.) from the University of Applied Sciences in Trier, Berit’s expertise is in the design of interior spaces within an architectural context. Past projects range from exhibition design and high-end retail to the interior design of complex cultural and institutional developments.
Berit was inspired at an early age by her civil engineer grandfather who delighted his granddaughter with tales of working alongside highly skilled tradesmen and architects. She has translated that enthusiasm into her own work, enjoying the variety and challenges that omb’s studio offers. Baking and knitting nourish Berit’s soul, along with more active pursuits like running, rowing in the ocean and yoga-ing. She relates to the words of Charles and Ray Eames when they said, “The details are not the details. They make the design.” Now we know what detailfreudig means.
