Gregarious. Tenacious. Promoter of Puns.

This Tabasco sauce on everything, podcast-loving designer keeps her keen eye on civic spaces and thoughtful designs – integrating sustainable materials and long-term intentions with integrity and beauty. Focusing on maintaining the design vision and being a committed part of an integrated team at omb – while not taking everything too seriously, unless there’s a deadline (then it’s no joke!) – are her prescribed essentials for the success of a project. Working on award winning projects that range in scale from a two-block civic & care campus to revitalizing the accessibility and identity of existing buildings, Julia is always excited to find the best solution to any project challenge. She finds inspiration all around-from the simplicity of nature, the spirit of humanity, and the complexity of context; these are generators of great design for her.

Growing up in Hong Kong and Toronto. Gaining her architectural credentials at Carleton and Cornell. Volunteering in Costa Rica and working in Montréal, San Francisco and Toronto. She is happy to make her new home in Vancouver where she’s out and about, playing volleyball and board-games with friends, running the seawall and exploring the vibrant city. Not to sound cheesy, but so far she’s grate!
