Thinker. Collaborator. Sailor.
When she worked as an eco-tour guide in coastal BC, Magali helped others build a connection to the planet and its wild places. She came to architecture for similar reasons. Encountering a building in Mexico that was a perfect expression of its site and climate, she realized that a thoughtfully designed structure can encourage the same kind of connection to place as a wilderness adventure. Studying architecture at UBC only reinforced her conviction that design, at its core, is about how humans take up space on the planet — a question she returns to again and again in her work.
Collaborative, open and communicative, Magali is an inspired designer who loves a good brainstorming session and brings out the best in a team. Outside of work, she practices yoga and meditation, draws and reads — and still gets out on the water anytime she can.
