Tobi May

Architect AIBC

Smart. Understated. Feminist.

Tobi isn’t afraid of complexity. With calm intelligence, she takes on ambitious heritage renovations, complicated permitting negotiations and careful studies of layout, massing and detailing. A natural collaborator, she loves to join forces with passionate clients and skilled craftspeople. She also serves as a mentor to female intern architects through the AIBC, and a volunteer on the Advisory Planning Commission in New Westminster, where she advocates for good design.

Equally impressive, Tobi recently finished her own home reno with her sanity and marriage intact (although she still needs to pick a backsplash tile). The mother of two boys, she spends most weekends beachcombing, bike riding, and berry picking at the family cabin in Birch Bay, Washington.
