Canyon House

Size 1,800 SF

The Canyon House is a renovation of a late 1950s post and beam house. Located on a wooded ravine site, the project enhances the architectural clarity of the original building while improving the connections between interior and exterior spaces. The post and beam structure allowed several of the interior spaces to be reorganized in response to the needs of a growing family without expanding the building footprint. The project aims to highlight the inherent optimism and resilience of classic mid-century modern houses, capitalizing on their timelessness and intimate connection to surroundings.
